Podcast, Reflection, and Dabbas' TED Talk
Podcast Reflection:
For this podcast, I decided to talk about a lung disease called Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia(PCD), because it is something I am well informed and familiar with, as I have been diagnosed with this disease since I was 3.5 years old. At the time of my diagnosis there were roughly 400 known cases within the US, and upward of 12,000 cases today. This disease is classified as being rare, so I figured it would be cool to teach some people about a topic they may not have ever heard of, or understood.
Using Audacity again this week made things super easy, having worked with it briefly last week as well. Now that I had become more familiar with the technology, the process went even smoother.

Dabbas' "Disruptive Technologies" TED Talk:
In Dubbas' presentation, he discusses the rise and evolution of technology. Essentially, the concept of "disruptive technology" entails the concept of how technology has forced evolution and moved a lot of modern-day things, such as work and education, to online platforms. The disruptive aspect is that this switch and fast evolution of technology has brought a lot of disconnect from the real world, making society very tied and dependent on their devices. Industries are changing and replacing jobs and systems with technological resources. There is already a shortage of jobs due to this evolution.
I grew up with a lot more internet access than previous generations, and still struggle to operate certain tools and devices being part of the younger generation, which goes to show how much technology stands to disrupt the day-to-day life of a majority of our society today. Technology is evolving around us, forcing us to adapt and change in unfamiliarity, with it.
