My Moovly Animation: For this weeks animation I used the application Moovly. This was a free resource, with some animations already made, to insert into your own project. It was easy to navigate, as it does have a tutorial and pretty straight forward tools. The process was super easy, the only difficulty I had was figuring out how to export my finished animation. You have to exit the animation after hitting save and go back to your "My Projects" page, to then click on the project you want to download and export it wherever you choose. I decided to use the rotating earth and a background of some twinkling stars for this animation, which you can check out below! Podcast Reflection: For this podcast, I decided to talk about a lung disease called Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia(PCD), because it is something I am well informed and familiar with, as I have been diagnosed with this disease since I was 3.5 years old. At the time of my diagnosis there were roughly 400 known cases within the US, and upward of 12,000 cases today. This disease is classified as being rare, so I figured it would be cool to teach some people about a topic they may not have ever heard of, or understood. Using Audacity again this week made things super easy, having worked with it briefly last week as well. Now that I had become more familiar with the technology, the process went even smoother. Audacity: Audacity is a download from the internet that allows for the recording, editing, and sharing of audio recordings. There is a free version, and two other versions which require payment, however, for this recording I stuck with the free version as it had all of the aspects I needed. It was simple to download and then access, and simple to navigate as there was a description for each tool. The only difficult part in the process, for me, was originally trying to find what the tools were for, as the description does not hover over them, but rather is written on the bottom of the screen in small print as you place your mouse over the tool. Screencasting: For my screencasting presentation on Canva, I used the Screen-cast-o-matic(Screenpal) application to record my screen. I originally tried to use Screenrec, but the two versions for downloading were very confusing. After figuring out how to access the downloads, neither version was compatible with my computer. Screenpal was easy to download, very straightforward, and easy to navigate. All I had to do was allow the application to access my screen and microphone (which the application walked me through), and then I just had to hit record. Once I was done recording, I just had to stop it, and there were options to edit the screen recording, and then it was simple to download and make unlisted.  My screencasting link is posted at the bottom of this blog post! Animoto Review:     Using Animoto to create this slideshow was relatively easy and straightforward. The most difficult piece for me was more so within my own organization of the files on my computer when trying to find the ones I wanted to upload onto the slideshow. I could not figure out how to edit the slideshow very well, but luckily I did not necessarily need to, having used Pizlr to edit the photos before adding them to the slideshow. In part, I did not do much exploring around the Animoto website because of my use of Pixlr for manipulating the images.      For this slideshow I decided to display some photos I have taken of my surroundings that I have found fascinating over the years. As far as what you can do with the Animoto, it would work great with any set of photos.    ...

  Reflection: Above you will see the 960x200 pixel banner I created using the online resource Pizlr. Using Pixlr I was able to make a custom-sized banner relatively easily, using the tools provided to insert images and text to make the finished product you see above. For this banner, I decided to find three logos with coincide with the areas of focus for the week, which will be discussed in the remainder of this blog.  Social Bookmarking: While social bookmarking resources are not commonly used as much right now, these websites could be used to save (bookmark) and label different resources and tools in one space. On these sites, the individual who inserts a bookmark can either publish such as public or private, which can then be looked up on these sites using the label assigned to each bookmark.
